Community Justice Coordinator - Anindilyakwa Land Council

Objective:
The key focus of the role will be coordinating the development and implementation of the Groote Eylandt Community Justice Group (CJG) in accordance with Justice Reference Group, Local Decision Making Agreement and ALC Strategic Plan.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the delivery of the Groote Archipelago Community Justice Group Program, ensuring adherence to annual budgets and reporting milestones.
- Facilitate and support the CJG employees and members to implement and action the program requirements.
- Provide dynamic team leadership to the CJG team.
- Ensure the CJG is able to be informed and participate and align in relevant Commonwealth and Northern Territory Government strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders.
- Proactively seek funding opportunities for investment in community-based initiatives and prepare grant applications as directed.
- Attend stakeholder meetings and other forums as required.
- Any other duties as may reasonably be directed.
- Ensuring appropriate confidentiality of information is maintained at all times
- Completing ad-hoc reporting as required
- Undertaking the responsibilities of the position adhering to:
- ALC policies and practices
- WHS legislation and requirements
- All other legal requirements
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working within the Justice system.
- A Tertiary qualification or relevant experience in Community Justice or related field.
- Demonstrated ability in community development, engaging with community members and stakeholders.
- Proven high level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise, negotiate and consult with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly developed time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and to effectively manage multiple projects including the organisation and effective delivery of workshops.
- Field experience with Aboriginal people, an understanding of Aboriginal culture and history, and an awareness of current social issues and their impact on Aboriginal people in remote communities in the NT.
- Proven experience in mentoring Indigenous staff to foster capacity within the workplace.
- Possess a current NT driver’s License or ability to obtain.
