Executive Director - NT WorkSafe

Primary objective
The Executive Director NT WorkSafe provides strong leadership and strategic direction in the management of work health and safety, workers' compensation and electricity safety systems and services across the Northern Territory.

Context statement
The incumbent is required to possess the skills, qualifications, training and experience to be considered for a statutory appointment as the Work Health Authority, with powers and functions under the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011, the Return to Work Act 1986,  the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2010, Electricity Reform Act 2000, Dangerous Goods Act 1998 and associated Regulations. The Work Health Authority and the Electricity Safety Regulator discharges its powers and functions through NT WorkSafe, an agency of the Department of the Attorney-General and Justice. NT WorkSafe provides advice, guidance, and information, and monitors and enforces compliance with the aforementioned legislation, Northern Territory-wide.
