PURPOSE

Law Society NT will strive to:

  1. Represent and support the NT legal profession;
  2. Fairly and efficiently uphold the highest standard of professional conduct;
  3. Promote the development of fair and just laws; and
  4. Advocate for the integrity of the legal system.

GOALS

  1. Focus on regulatory matters and prioritising and efficiently dealing with complaints;
  2. Expand member wellbeing and welfare programs;
  3. Strengthen member engagement across the Northern Territory;
  4. Strengthen external stakeholder relationships;
  5. Actively build long term organisational sustainability.

CONSTITUTION

The current Constitution of the Law Society Northern Territory was approved at a Special General Meeting held on 29 March 2022.

YOUNG LAWYERS COMMITTEE BY-LAW

The Young Lawyers Committee By-law was approved by Council on 31 October 2019. This By-law came into effect on 1 January 2020.
