Overview:
The Law Society Northern Territory (the Society) is the peak professional body representing the interests of legal practitioners in the Northern Territory. The Society is seeking to appoint a Director of Regulation to carry out the work necessary for the Society to fulfil the exercise of its regulatory functions under the Legal Profession Act.
This is a unique opportunity to make an important and meaningful contribution to the legal profession and the general community.
Responsibilities Include:
- Solicitor on the record in litigated proceedings
- In house legal counsel for the Society
- Advise and brief the Society’s Council and Committees
- Management responsibility for the Society’s regulatory functions and team
Requirements:
- Admission to a Supreme Court of Australia
- 7 years post admission legal experience
- Excellent track record in diverse practice areas
- Exceptional communication skills
