The Society maintains records of Foreign Lawyers that have been issued a Grant of Registration to Practice Foreign Law in the Northern Territory. The Society notes the relevance of Part 2.7 of the Legal Profession Act 2006 (LPA) to registered Foreign Lawyers. In particular, the scope of the practice is limited by section 174 of the LPA and regulation 23 of the Legal Profession Regulations 2007 which allows them to undertake work or transact business concerning the law of their approved foreign country.
