Home Members only 2022 AGM Documents 2022 AGM documents Notice of 2022 AGM The Society’s AGM will be held as follows: Date: Thursday 17 November 2022Time: 4.30 pm for a 5.00 pm startVenue: REINT Training Room, Unit 2/6 Lindsay Street, Darwin. Members will be able to attend the AGM in person or online via Zoom. The Zoom link will be emailed to those members who register their attendance by Zoom online at Eventbrite. The host will need to verify that you are a Member to allow access to the meeting and to record your attendance on the night – please ensure you use your full name so that you can be easily identified. You may be asked to identify yourself once you enter the meeting for record purposes. Nominees are encouraged to provide a recent photo and brief biography (max 250 words) for posting on the AGM page to nominations@lawsocietynt.asn.au. Any member considering nominating for a Council position is welcome to contact the Chief Executive Officer or Manager Regulatory Services to discuss any questions they may have about the role and its requirements. ELECTRONIC VOTING ARRANGEMENTS At this year’s AGM, voting for Council positions will, where required, take place electronically irrespective of whether members attend in person or online. This will require all attendees intending to vote on Council elections or on resolutions to be considered at the AGM to register their preferred method of attendance and provide an email address at which they will receive and access electronic ballots throughout the course of the AGM. Members intending to attend the AGM either in person or online must provide advance notice of their attendance by registering for the AGM via Eventbrite at the following link here. Members who have not provided this information prior to the AGM will be required to provide this upon arrival at the AGM in order to participate in voting. PROXIES If you are unable to attend the AGM in person or via Zoom, you may appoint a proxy. Proxies must be registered via Eventbrite ticket “Not Attending – I wish to give my proxy to another member” which requires you to provide the email address of the proxy receiver. Once you have appointed a proxy you will not be able to vote at the AGM. You can only give your proxy to one other member to vote on your behalf. To avoid delays at the AGM, the Society would appreciate registration of proxies by 4.00 pm Wednesday 16 November 2022 via Eventbrite so they can be processed and collated prior to the meeting. ASSOCIATE MEMBERS Pursuant to Clause 7(f) of the Constitution, an Associate Member is entitled to receive notice of, attend and participate in the AGM but may not vote. The AGM page will be updated with information about nominees for Council positions as they are received.
