    Civil Outreach Solicitor - Tennant Creek

    An exciting opportunity exists in the Tennant Creek office of the Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission for a Civil Solicitor. The successful applicant will work in a small team under the direction and supervision of the Civil Practice Manager. The Civil Law Practice aims to provide enhanced access to advice, legal education. legal assistance and appropriate referrals to people in the Barkly region in a broad range of civil law matters, employment law, consumer, credit and debt matters, health matters, administrative law and human rights.

    The position requires a multi-skilled, self-motivated person who has an understanding of legal issues impacting on Indigenous people in the NT, in particular civil law issues. The successful applicant should have significant post admission legal practice experience.
    A contract will be negotiated based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant. The Commission’s conditions of employment are similar to those existing in the Northern Territory Public Service.
