This seminar will cover how best to take a statement from a prospective witness and prepare the same in affidavit format. Given our Courts in the NT are more open to affidavit evidence today than they’ve been at any time in the past, it’s imperative that practitioners develop a proper and considered approach as to how to take instructions from prospective witnesses and prepare affidavits of their ‘would be’ evidence in chief.
Presenter: Mr Wade Roper, Barrister, William Forster Chambers, Darwin
Wade has practiced in the NT since 2002 and is recognised as a commercial litigator with a strong focus on banking and insolvency, administrative, company, construction, professional indemnity, employment and trade practices law. He was called to the NT Bar in August 2009 and since then has been involved in the majority of cases concerning the construction and application of the Construction Contracts (Security of Payments) Act coming before the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal.
