About the Society
The Society is a statutory body constituted under the Legal Profession Act (NT), which controls and regulates the affairs of the legal profession in the NT and offers a range of services to lawyers. This includes professional development, ethical advice, functions, publications and advocacy. The Society is the only body in the NT that is able to issue Practising Certificates to lawyers.
The current Constitution of the Law Society Northern Territory was approved at a Special General Meeting held on Thursday 22 October 2020.
Young Lawyers Committee By-law
The Young Lawyers Committee By-law was approved by Council on 31 October 2019. This By-law came into effect on 1 January 2020.
