Free CPD: Sexual Harassment – Changing Workplace Culture

Sexual Harassment Changing Workplace Culture CPD banner 96

The elimination of bullying, discrimination and harassment (including sexual harassment) in the legal profession throughout Australia is an issue of paramount importance for the profession.

The Law Society NT (Society) recognises the importance of addressing this issue in the Northern Territory and has licensed a training resource developed by the Queensland Law Society which deals with the issue of sexual harassment in the profession and the workplace.

The interactive workshop identifies inappropriate conduct, the role of bystanders, workplace culture and the reporting and management of complaints. It is focused on encouraging discussion on steps that can be taken to encourage cultural change in the workplace and is designed for legal practitioners and non-legal staff working in a legal environment.

The workshop will be presented in-person by trained facilitators (preferably in-person) in a 90-minute (1.5 CPD point) format at no charge to attendees. Sessions by Zoom and/or Teams will also be available.

The Society aims to offer this workshop to as many practitioners as possible across the Northern Territory throughout the next year and is aiming to also present the workshop to individual law practices and workplaces in house. Firms or other legal organisations interested in an in-house workshop session should contact Nabila Majid at the Society on 8981 5104 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

The sessions will be offered on an in-person attendance basis in Alice Springs and hopefully other regional areas throughout the year.

The workshop will provide 1.5 CPD points in either Professional Ethics and Responsibility (CA) or Practice Management and Business Skills (CB).

At this time two workshop sessions have been scheduled in Darwin as follows:
