Publishing a notice of intended application for a grant or for resealing in probate and administration proceedings

Pursuant to Practice Direction 1 of 2020 (Electronic Filing in Civil Proceedings), you are no longer required to publish a notice of an intended application for a grant or for resealing in the NT News (or equivalent publication), where that notice is filed electronically with the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory.

Where a notice of intended application is required to be published (in accordance with Rule 88.09 of the Supreme Court Rules 1987) and is electronically filed with the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory, the Proper Officer will publish the notice on the Supreme Court’s website as soon as practicable thereafter.

A list of notices filed and published by the Proper Officer, can be found at:

https://supremecourt.nt.gov.au/about/registry/wills-and-probate#Notices%20filed%20in%20probate%20proceedings

Please note, there is no fee associated with publication of the notice on the Supreme Court’s website. Notices are removed once probate or administration is granted.
