Overview

This practical CPD will equip you to work more effectively with clients impacted by Domestic and Family Violence. This workshop has been designed to unpack and examine the Domestic and Family Violence Bench Book and the Family Violence Best Practice Principles which have been developed to help judicial officers and practitioners better navigate this complex, and often, misunderstood area.

Judge Young is pleased to introduce the training which he has previously attended describing it as a ‘very well presented and very valuable training program’.

Introduction - The Hon Judge Tony Young, Federal Circuit Court of Australia

Speaker - Alex Richmond, Domestic Violence Community Educator, Dawn House Inc.

 

Alex is the specialist Domestic Violence Community Educator based at Dawn House Women’s Shelter in Darwin. She designs and delivers education in the field and has a particular interest in Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) and the law. She has worked on the frontlines of Domestic Violence and Women’s Services in the NT since 2000 after graduating with a BA/LLB [Hons] from the University of Wollongong. She also designs Domestic and Family Violence training as a consultant for clients including the AFL and the Department of Defence.
