LCA's RRR Digital Treechange Initiative

A program designed to bring more lawyers to the bush

Launched in at the Cairns Courthouse on 22 September, LCA’s ‘Digital Treechange’ initiative aims to overcome the ‘barrier of the unknown’ for lawyers considering rural, regional and remote practice.

Rather than having to relocate before knowing much about the participating employer, the work, the area and the lifestyle; the Initiative enables legal practitioners to work remotely for a participating employer, for a defined trial period. This allows the legal practitioner to get a sense of the work and workplace prior to relocating and, conversely, gives the legal practitioner an opportunity to trial the employer beforehand.

For further information on the Initiative, watch the launch on YouTube (36:25) or read more on the LCA's website.
